I have been experiencing unusual symptoms and I don’t know if it’s because I’m recovering from heavy stress recently…

It started with a funky tender spot on top of my right ankle. After a few days this progressed into numbness and tingling on my right foot, like it had gone to sleep. I massaged oil into it, wrapped it, and put it up for two days in bed and it became much better. I also started wearing shoes with a bit of a heel on it, and that helped, too (I’d been wearing flats for weeks, some without support).

My right arm seems to have also joined the party. One night it "fell asleep", and when I woke up and moved it, it had the pins and needles sensation. I didn’t think about it much but whenever I wake up it seems to have some weakness issues.

Now the pains are gone but I feel trembly — I can see my finger shake when I would be pointing something and I am leaning on the arm at the same time. My right ring finger seems to be suffering the most … when I hold my whole hand up in the air, it’s the one that’s visibly (and lightly) trembling.

Some backgrounder: I had a slipped disc on my lower right lumbar area several years ago, and I currently have a pelvic inflammation that’s yet to be treated. Also had shingles on my left arm last year. Furthermore, I had plantar fasciitis until about three years back, when I lost weight. Because of the heavy stress I had (as I mentioned in the beginning), I now weigh 160lbs at my height of 5’8", and I stopped all exercise for two months now (I used to be very active: yoga, pilates, tennis, running, walking).

Could these things be connected in any way? Prolonged standing and sitting make my leg symptoms worse. I feel like my right arm is weak, but there is no physical proof of that (I can still carry stuff using my right arm) although I’m gentler on it than usual.

Anyone have any idea what this might be? Should I be alarmed? Thanks.

Bowel dis-function on 3 occasions. difficulty in rising from chair; weakness in both legs; after sitting for more than 10 min. difficult to stand; can’t move legs for several minutes. Can’t straighten up; have to walk bent over with cane. sounds like Cauda Equina, but 4 dr’s-S-Surgeon; GP; Orthopedist ; Neurologist, say no. Now on Lyrica for 2 weeks-no relief except slightly better urinary function. now go for about 3-4 hours without need to empty bladder. At times, legs are normal-no swelling, but only temporary. Lying down does not help. Get up in A.M. with legs swollen. Left leg 2x as swollen as RT

I was giving my mother a back massage tonight and found a place about the length of my index, middle, and ring fingers sunken in around her lower back. It’s about the width of my middle finger and just sinks in more than the rest of her vertebrae. She’s been using a new chair at work and has been complaining of lumbar pain and arching her back a lot, around where the sunken area is. She has fibromyalgia. She has been complaining of numbness and tingling on her side, particularly on the inside of her groin and down her leg. She is going to schedule an appointment with a chiropractor Monday to assess the situation, but we are understandably worried.

Are there any spinal physicians or knowledgeable persons who could maybe give an idea of what the problem may be?

Thanks.

X-Ray says no bone spur, etc. Doc doesn’t seem to concerned, but I am. I have never had such an odd pain. I feel tightness/soreness in Quad, slight numbness/heaviness in right leg as well. Pain starts in lower right lumbar and radiates around hip over into top of thigh into groin and right testicle. No hernia, though. MRI in a week after Christmas otherwise prednisone for 12 days ( a little nervous about that). No kidney stone, no blood in urine, stool normal (no pain during #1 or #2). So what the heck? Its not sciatica because the pain does not go down the back of leg. Calf has cramping. All on right side. Left side of lower body is peachy keen. I started having a little trouble during Thanksgiving and a little time prior. My hamstrings had been tight but Doc was impressed with hamstrings since Oct 31 annual physical when they were tight. Back stopped hurting not long after Thanksgiving but when I returned to work I started sitting and the pain returned. This past week though it began
I am 33 and had prostate checked during physical (the whole fist). MRI will be done IF pain has not subsided after prednisone treatment.

After a fall several years ago I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have muscle pain everywhere but most of my pain is in my spine. It always feels like it is on fire. Doctors won’t give me anything for the pain because they can find no reason for the pain. I have been tested for everything and of course everything is negative.

MRI’s of my brain showed lesions but it was assumed these were actually interference from the braces on my teeth. The braces have come off, new MRI’s were done and more lesions were found. So , I was sent for a lumbar puncture to check for MS. Most everything was normal on the results except for:
Neutrophils 23 (normal 0-2)
Lymphocytes 51 (normal 63 -99)
RBC 99 (normal 0-5)

I don’t fell sick, no colds or infections. I am just in pain all of the time. I do have issues with memory loss, balance, fatigue, numbness and tingling, etc.

Any ideas what these results might point to?

Thank you
