Ever since my father sat on my computer chair too harshly the air pump gave way and it’s a little to uncomfortable to sit on now to say the least.

I was wondering if there is an alternative to computer chairs? Without the swivel and the air pump. Just a decent ordinary chair with good height and back support.
I’ve already tried our dining chairs and I can’t afford to keep buying computer chairs.

I’m going to be starting independent studies soon which means I will be spending a lot of my time at my desk on my computer or doing homework, this is all well and good except my computer chair is incredibly uncomfortable to sit in for long periods of time. It has even caused me to have back pain over time. Can you help me find a comfortable chair that will support being in for long hours? My price range is about 0-0, maybe a little more if you think it’s worth it. Thanks

Sorry that I’m putting this in health, but maybe some of you have issues with your back as well and have a preference of chairs you like

Thanks a lot to both of you… its not really lower back pain, more upper/ midsection of my back.

So. The iPad. Yeah, it’s overpriced. Yeah, it requires a monthly data plan. But OH MAN, is it cool, or what. For example – I am breaking my back in a crappy computer chair at a second-hand desk that is only slightly less uncomfortable when I put one foot up on the corner of the desk, and one foot up on the cat tree (which, let me tell you, the cat does NOT appreciate). And I thought – Gosh. I could be sitting on my squashy couch, even LAYING DOWN, and doing the same thing that I was planning on doing anyway, all with a device that weighs less than a pound.

BUT it’s all money, honey. How much is the ‘child support’ on this thing? What will Verizon rape me for? Realistically, I can burn up a lot of internet time, so no crappy low access plans, either. I want to have absolutely no restraint regarding it’s use.
The data plan. Silly girls :p

Thanks!
Dang it, went to the wrong section.
No, my spine is definitely not based on what would be "perfect". (Done at Cleveland Clinic) It’s pretty much completely straight with only the ability to bend at the hips.

I have been thinking lately about buying myself a nice quality computer chair for my desk at work. The chairs they supply us with have no arms and lousy back support, thus making my very uncomfortable. The problem is, the place I work is actually a ton of cubicles lined up. I have seen other people who have bought a nice chair for themselves, but when they have the day off or are out sick, someone takes their chair and uses it. To me this is really rude because these people don’t ask, they just walk right up to the absent person’s desk and roll their chair over to their cubicle. Often times the person comes back to a broken, stained, torn, smelly, or otherwise destroyed chair. If I am going to spend 0-0 on a chair, I do not want anyone to ruin it. What are some suggestions for making sure that people don’t use my chair without seeming like a selfish jerk?
