I’m going to be starting independent studies soon which means I will be spending a lot of my time at my desk on my computer or doing homework, this is all well and good except my computer chair is incredibly uncomfortable to sit in for long periods of time. It has even caused me to have back pain over time. Can you help me find a comfortable chair that will support being in for long hours? My price range is about 0-0, maybe a little more if you think it’s worth it. Thanks

Sorry that I’m putting this in health, but maybe some of you have issues with your back as well and have a preference of chairs you like

He can sit perfectly fine, but he needs to be placed on the floor. What he needs to learn is how to sit up from the prone (laying down) position by himself.

All the boppy pillow, bebe pod or bumbo chairs do is teach how to support his upper body, not the motions of how to sit up on their own.

I should mention that since he rolls around, he gets plenty of tummy time. I’m fairly confident his stomach muscles are in good shape. He also can support his upper body with his arms, and even reach for a toy while propping his torso up with the other arm.

So, my question is, does anyone have any suggestions as to how I begin to show him the mechanics/’how-to’ of sitting up unassisted?

Many thanks.

(I’m probably worrying too much. I’m well aware babies develop at their own pace, I’m just curious as to whether or not there’s something I can show him that will ‘jumpstart’ the self-sitting process.)

Well ladies, just in the last week, I’m finding that I’m getting so big that getting out of low chairs or squishy chairs is tricky! In fact, I find that I go to stand up and fall back down into the chair – LOL!

So now I find I have to push off using the arm of the chair or something of that.

Did anybody else have this problem so early on? Or is now at 22 Weeks 1 Day not considered too early to experience this?

Also, this last week I find I have more pressure on my lower back. I find that I tilt back I guess to support the extra weight in my belly but as I have a previous lumber disk injury this makes my back feel achy and weak after not long on my feet at all. So working is harder too. Due to my previous injury I actually do no vacuming and mopping etc at work or at home to try help rest my back on doctors orders.

Did anybody else get this from my stage too?

Just so you know how big I am – here are two photos from a little bump photoshoot my friend did for me last friday at 21 Weeks 3 Days pregnant. I have always been big from early on in pregnancy by the way.

Oh, and also ignore how BIG I look. I’ve always been rather small, but the weight I have put (though not much) combined with no tone left from less exercise makes me look MASSIVE – EVERYWHERE! So not the best look!

The first photo shows how big my bump is better, but I love the second photo as a keepsake. My friend took some beautiful photos to remember this time – even if I’m not a fan of my full weight etc!

http://s87.photobucket.com/albums/k137/ellieRAfan/Bump%20Photoshoot/?action=view&current=IMG_4103.jpg

Thanks guys for your opinions on this! X

i need to reupholster the chairs in my dining set but none of the websites i’ve visited say how to reupholster the back part of the chair, which has a cushion as well. how do i do this?

The back has a top wooden support, a three inch gap, the cushion and another wooden support at the base of the cushion, about 4 inches up from the seat. The back cushion is sewn around a slat of wood (about 8 inches tall) and the fabric edges are hidden by the side "rails" on the chair.

I think I will have to take apart the entire chair to do this, but want to avoid that if at all possible.

Hi, for the past year or so ive had moderate back pain all over my back and im wondering if anyone else has the same problem or what they do to help or anything. Since i started walkin my feet have turned inwards (intoeing) but it hasnt really caused any bother except for sore joints from the waist down from time to time. Im wondering if this could be related to my back. The pain worsens when i sit on chairs with bad back support and if i slump over. In general my joints would be a bit crackily and noisy but the ones in my back seem worse. If the pain gets too bad id normally take an ibuprofen but I dont want to have to reach for painkillers all the time.
My sister has the same pain but much more severe and has had mri scans and x rays done but there havent been any diagnoses made yet. She has to take tramadol and codeine quite regularly and I dont want my pain to get that far. Im have a healthy weight and I have good health in general so Im a bit confused as to what could cause this. Im relatively young too so I dont think its arthrituis or anything Any help or advice would be great thanks
I dont want to have to rely on painkillers all the time though.
