Does anyone else find Toyota Prius seats uncomfortable?
We have only one complaint about our 2004 Prius — the front seats are uncomfortable. (When I wait for my husband I always sit on a chair cushion in the back seat) I get a cramp if I sit too long behind the wheel: Same effect as the uncomfortable seats on the airplane in coach section.
I find the seats small, sparcely padded probably more suitable for shorter, smaller people. My experience is that the space for the driver’s arms & legs are cramped. I’m normal sized with long legs: 5′ 5" 143 lbs.
The front headrest was uncomfortable as it forced my head into a forward (duck-like) position. So I flipped it around and the back side is now my front side.
We purchased seat cushions and lumbar pillows. It helped a little, but it’s still not comfortable seating.
I like the fact the car for it’s economy in operation. But when we go on vacation, we always rent a regular gas car, intermediate sized and leave the Prius at home for commuting
yes, the same thing happens to me with the seats of the toyota tercel 87, horrible seats you can replace them jejeje with some money. One good option is a pair of SPARCO seats jejeje LOL
YES
It’s not the best Hybrid Toyota has to offer. The Highlander and Camry are the ways to go if you want more comfort. However, you are driving the first and number one Hybrid to hit the market! Something you should be stoked about!
Yes they are… but Toyota had to skimp on costs somewhere to sell the thing at a reasonable price. You might check out their new Yaris or Honda’s Fit. Both comfortable and with the right driver can get 40 MPG. And they cost about $8,000 less than the Prius.
Oh and Kathrine… the first Hybrid to market here in America was the Honda Insight.
