Do you know what this back injury is?

About 4 years ago, i was lifting a 20 lb baby… i know! but i really really injured my back doing this! I do not know what happened. But i was standing up with her in my arms out in front of me, and all the sudden i blacked out. I am not sure how long i blacked out for, probably just a second, because when i came to i was just sort of bent over, but she was still in my hands. Thank goodness!! And i could not stand up, i could barely move. So i had to drop to my knees without moving my back, and slowly set her down. then i could not stand up at all and the pain was incredible. The middle lumbar area swelled up huge… and i was out of work for over a month… nothing was comfortable, standing was horrible, sitting in a chair with no back support was unbearable…. laying down was ridiculously hard to get comfortable. I have seen so many doctors about this, and i have gotten all kinds of wierd answers… but no one has given me an MRI… most of them say it is a muscle strain.
but 4 years later i am still having alot of pain… and it flairs up randomly, and i am in so much pain i can barely move and i just cry! then other times it is not that bad… but i do not see how that can be a muscle strain? how could it keep hurting me after all this time… it seems like the doctors just dont listen to what i am saying.. and it relieves the pressure when i bend forward… what does this sound like? anyone know??
Thankyou to those that have answered seriously! i really appreciate it!

and to you others hahahaha…. but now please only serious answers! thankyou!
all jokes aside, we all know that you can hurt your back really really ridiculously easily…it does not take much… so please lets have some more real answers!

Sounds to me that you might have sciatica. I’ve had this happen to me before, the pain was unbearable and it started sudden, just like you. It’s a pinched nerve, they might give you a shot to calm down the inflammation of the nerves. X-Rays and blood tests are often unhelpful and are only performed if there are other concerns. You should see your doctor about this, hope you feel better :)

Insist that the Dr send you for an MRI I don’t know but you could have a severely herniated disk. Good luck.
P.S. The blackout. I think you should see a pain specialist and a neurologist

honey you have a Bad problem… you need to get to a dr and tell him you insist on a mri,cat scan, something other than an x-ray!!!this may be a # of things, it could be a herniated disk, a protruding disk, bulging disk, you could have schollisos, spondylalgia,( vertebra pain), spondylarthritis(inflammation of one or more vertebra),spondylexarthrrosis,(A dislocated vertibra), or spondylosis, a condition that marks by narrowing of the intervertebral spaces and lipping of the vertebral bodies, impinging on the nerve roots. spondylitis deformans affecting the movements of the hips and shoulders.I know all this because I have had 5 major back surgeries within a 6 year period.I;ve had rods and screws from my neck to the crack of my tail, still have quite a few and have a miserable life as of now….I have to see a pain management dr. every mo. and still have to live with the pain and take a hand full of meds just to get up and go. For God sake please listen to me and see someone before you turn out like me. Trust me. something is NOT right if it still bothers you this way. Please keep me in touch, okay? I’m adding you to my contacts

So sorry I don’t have much time but I read most of it and from what it sounds like it is a muscle strain which has been a recent and common problem for most my patients over the past few years more than anytime I have ever seen in my whole 27 years as a physcian. I do not understand what is causing this, but there is a small portion of my patients that have actually died (in all honestly) after continuously having back pains over a period of several years. It seems that when X-rays or MRI’s have been taken by these muscle strains, it has actually shown that it is [strangley] highly probable that any muscle strain in the body can have collateral damage to all muscles in the body and if it reaches the lower back it can eat away your spinal cord (or slowly break it away) and can cause spinal fluid to deteriorate other muscles in the body which appears to be some sort of aids symptom where the patients are sufering from fatigue, frequent headaches, unable to sit or lay down I have had patients who actually slept at angle standing up, ultimately every patient, and which I am deeply sorry of, that has been unable to sit or lay properly over a period of 3 or 4 years is no longer with me OH I am sorry! I do have one patient who is in a mental institution suffering from terrible schizophrenia and delirium because the muscle strain (and this I believe) has actually affected his brain, which is as well a muscle, to collapse. I am getting a group of doctors together to solve this reoccuring problem. I have been doing a great amount of research on this for the past 7 years and I believe that something must be done immediatly about this otherwise humanity will suffer as we know it this is not contagious by any means.

But you should not worry unless it still causing frequent problems over a period of YEARS to the point where you cannot move and bending over is the only way to loosen the stress inside the radium of your bones then you must please get a hold of me someway . Sorry I really have to go now – Indiana Jones – Hope I helped, Professor of Yurkley University Doctor Michael Hazenburg please contact me if neccessary.

Fgvgfdgfd F is completely right. I know of a few people who have died this way. And judging by your post, I’d say you’re already way past treatment. Best thing you can do now is life your last few days/weeks/months to the fullest. Say your goodbyes, make your peace with god. And get ready to move into the after life. I will pray for you.
