What is the cause? Back pain lower lumbar referred to testicle/groin.Doc says pinch nerve and prednisone?
X-Ray says no bone spur, etc. Doc doesn’t seem to concerned, but I am. I have never had such an odd pain. I feel tightness/soreness in Quad, slight numbness/heaviness in right leg as well. Pain starts in lower right lumbar and radiates around hip over into top of thigh into groin and right testicle. No hernia, though. MRI in a week after Christmas otherwise prednisone for 12 days ( a little nervous about that). No kidney stone, no blood in urine, stool normal (no pain during #1 or #2). So what the heck? Its not sciatica because the pain does not go down the back of leg. Calf has cramping. All on right side. Left side of lower body is peachy keen. I started having a little trouble during Thanksgiving and a little time prior. My hamstrings had been tight but Doc was impressed with hamstrings since Oct 31 annual physical when they were tight. Back stopped hurting not long after Thanksgiving but when I returned to work I started sitting and the pain returned. This past week though it began
I am 33 and had prostate checked during physical (the whole fist). MRI will be done IF pain has not subsided after prednisone treatment.
As we age, the catillage between the vertebrae thins and flattens, and gradually disapears. This can cause a "pinched nerve." The irritaion between the 2 vertebrae causes swelling…which causes pressure on the nerve…hence treatment with prednisone. Sounds like you are getting excellent medical care…so just keeping asking your doc your questions til you have a clear understanding of his findings. Sitting typically aggravates the situation.
If he is taking an MRI of the head he may be ruling out MS. If the steroids work and MRI of the brain and spine shows lessons he may order a lumbar puncture to check for a specific protein. Also you should have your prostate checked (psa). How old are you? Don’t worry their is nothing you can do. You seem to be doing all the right things.
I don’t want to make light of your condition since, as others say, it may be more serious but have you examined poor posture and lack of physical movement during your working day as the possibility. Since you say you sit for work, try this – once every 15 minutes get up and walk around your desk or office for 2 minutes. Make sure to stretch muscles in legs, abdomen, arms, etc. each time. Then sit down and resume work. See if that helps after a couple weeks. Like a lot of people who work in a sitting position for hours on end (especially if a computer is involved) you may be suffering from a severe case of computeritis (my term) which can only be cured through regular physical activity throughout the day. but even if the doctor does find somethgin, my suggestion isn;t goign to harm you and may in fact make you feel better so it is worth doing anyway.
you can avoid kidney stones by drinking lots of liquid.”;,
Kidney Stone is a deadly disease specially if it has not been checked regularly..’*
kidney stone is caused by calcium or oxalate deposits that have built up over the years“-
I have similar problem with pain in left buttock that radiates around thigh and into left testicle. It began after physical therapy for a neck problem when I was switched from rubber band to weight pulling. It is not constant or severe but the testicle involvement is concerning.
i am staying away from high sodium diets cause it can cause kidney stones and other bad effects “~.
