What can you do to help w/ lower back pain during pregnancy?
I’m only 6 weeks but the last few mornings I’ve woken up with bad lower back pain. Some friends are telling me not to use a heating pad bc it will raise my body temp.

Back pain will come and go throughout your entire pregnancy. Some of it is hormonal and the rest is caused by your expanding belly putting stress on your back. These are some things that have helped me so far:
- PILLOWS! Sleep on your side with pillows wedged behind your back and between your legs. Also make sure that the pillow under your head is properly supportive. I also invested in a big body pillow to curl up with on the couch.
- Don’t sit in the same position for too long. Get up and walk around at work and change the adjustments on your chair a couple of times per day. I also found that it helped to roll up a towel and place it at the base of my spine while sitting in my chair.
- Swim. Floating in a pool is the closest that you can get to being weightless during pregnancy. It really helps take all of the stress off of your back and legs. If you have access to a pool, then try to sneak away for 30 minutes or so when you can. It makes such a big difference!
I have found some good tips in following link, It may be good for you too

You can use a heating pad so long as its on the lowest setting and you place a towel between you and the heating pad -
A rice sock is helpful as well -
The best way I found to relieve lower back pain during my two pregnancies – get one of those long body pillows and sleep with it between your knees and snuggled against your chest. Worked wonders for me!
