How can I relieve back pain when I am pregnant and on bed rest?

Alright, so I just got rid of boils on my back and now have severe back pain because I am pregnant. I am on strict bed rest on orders of the doctor because I went into pre-term with my last child. Nothing I do helps and I am in pain no matter what I do and how I lay in bed. Any suggestions on how I can relieve the pain?

    1. Get extra pillows to prop yourself up well.
    2. Sleep with a pillow between your knees. This works wonders.
    3. Get a heating pad to lay on.
    4. Consider your mattress. The end of my first trimester was bad agony on my back. But we got a new mattress (which we desperately needed and were already planning on) and my back is sooooo much better. I know it is an expensive solution, but if you are already in need, maybe now is the time.

you just have to get the most comfortable place that you can

lie..in right lateral position on your bed…this will reduce the pressure on ur back and on ur heart..relives ur discomfort…rest ur back on o pillow when you sit.do mild rotating exercise n massage, hot bath…avoid straining..because u have preterm history rest more in comfortable position

Hello, I’ve done massage and muscular therapies for many pregnant women. That by itself should help. Other things you can try….Sleep with a pillow between your knees, this helps keep your lower back un-twisted. If you sleep on your back, keep a pillow under your knees, this also helps support lower back. Also, a tennis ball can help if you lay on it. Place it under your body in the low back on one side of the spine then the other, kind of a self massage technique. Hope this helps.
