What is the best chair or sitting style for your back while using a computer for a long period?
Question: What is the ideal chair or sitting style to support your back while sitting for a long period of time?
I found some good information on this website (although it seems somewhat biased) http://www.zafu.net/whatswrong.html – it appears that our generation is loosing energy to support our own back and we’re better off reverting to not using back supports – just our own bodies muscle to hold our posture. Anyways after reading that I’m thinking about buying a comfortable bench and seeing if that will rebuild my natural back strength (such as majority of people over-seas according to the article), unless anyone has good suggestions – thank you ![]()
That article seems interesting…especially if you are selling chairs. There is only a few things wrong with it. One is that we have used the same style of chair for centuries and we are now first running into trouble. Do you really think it’s the chair? The next thing is pretty important too, do you think a chair is going to fix any back in pain? I don’t. Like beds, shoes, and now chairs, it’s not them causing the pain, it’s still your back that is the problem. Once you have a pinched muscle in your back you may find some temporary relief with a product but the fact remains that you still have pinched muscles in your back and they are going to act up at one time or another and maybe at very inopportune times. What are you going to do then?
If you want relief from back pain you have to release the muscles in your back that are pinched. Once they are released it won’t matter what you sit on, what you lay on or what shoes you wear or don’t wear, your back is not going to be in pain. If that sounds like a better alternative to you then all you have to do is release those muscles and forget about the chair. Here’s how to release your back muscles to get rid of pain:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and find the muscles next to your spine and firmly press on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling and keep your body at ease.
Colon cleaning is the new method to reduce weight. Scientists have illustrated the point that not all extra weight is due to additional fat, a load of weight simply rests there in your colon, and all you need to do is flush it out. http://dimock.hotstardiet.info has a risk free trial on currently, give it a try, you can reduce as much as 20 lbs!
I don’t think back supports are the problem . Personally I have been using a very curved chair (kind of like a new moon shape) or laying on my bed. Naturally you never end up sitting up straight for hours, you will just end up straining your muscles and slouching a lot. You can avoid the back pain by switching positions, standing up, doing some extra exercise.
