What chair will fit my body like a Honda car seat. When I sit for long periods of time my back hurts.?

I recently started doing medical transcription and when I sit at the computer for long periods of time my hip starts causing me problems. I got a new chair that fits my body and supports my lower back but the problem continues. In the past I had back pain but when I started driving a Honda Accord I was greatly improved. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Try one of the plug in massagers with heat that plug right in to your car. They help me alot on long car trips.

oooh baby welcome to my world, I thought I was an alien when I tell people I can drive in bad seats u really make my day… Well, I find out that the old Toyota Mr2 is the best best car I ever sit I can drive for hrs. Then the Pontiac Grand Pri. I’m sticking with the sport car sit, I think they do much better than any other.

There are some chairs that feel very much like car seats but they sit very low to the floor and wouldn’t be at all appropriate for a desk. You’d never reach the keyboard. I’ve never seen one that sits up high like an office chair. Got any cash? You might be able to hit up a junk yard, get a Honda seat, and have a carpenter build you a custom chair……. nah, too pricey.

Listen, I hate to say this but, really, why do so many people ask questions here that are better dealt with by seeing your doctor? That’s really the only route you have to take. Any other suggestions you find here on this subject are very likely to lead you down the wrong path. See your doctor and find out why your back and hip hurts to begin with. He’ll have solutions to your problems that you’ll never find on a message board like this one.

Ergonomic chairs are supposed to be designed so that they are comfortable and allow you to sit properly. Try this site:

It’s not so much the chair. It’s the fact that our bodies need to move.
Try doing chair exercises while sitting. Stand and stretch once per hour. Adjust your chair. Don’t sit back, sit forward at the edge of the chair with your feet flat on the floor, as if you were playing a piano. This will help you to sit up straight.

Anytime you sit for long periods of time, it puts pressure on your spine, hips, neck, shoulders. If you don’t change positions, you will continue to have back, hip, leg, neck pain.

If this doesn’t help, then go see a Chiropractor for some suggestions.

I came across this while trying to Google to see where my own site came up… What a find! I might very well be able to help you, because I convert car seats into office chairs! Check my website, it has many examples of stuff my partner and I have built.
