Standing for the job?
HI, I am working for the jewelry store in the UK and I have to stand all day for 8.5 hours on average 2 hours breakes.They gave me a stool, but these stools are not comfortable, no back support and after sitting for five minutes you have pain back. There are no rules about health and safety for security officers or connected to the construction of the stools and chairs? What should I do to reduce the risk linked to the subject matter?
Well, that's a pickle. I say buy more comfortable shoes. You can work on your posture and avoid highlighting certain parts of your body as you stand in one place. What do the Royal Guard when they are there all day in uniform? That must be quite tiring as well. If the workplace was dangerous to their health or contravene any of their legal rights, there would be no UK equivalent to the OSHA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) I guess.
